Pitru Paksha 2026 — 26 September to 10 October
Fifteen days set aside entirely for the ancestors. Every rite on this page carries more weight when performed within it, and the final day — Sarva Pitru Amavasya, 10 October 2026 — is when Shradh may be offered for all ancestors together, including those whose tithi your family no longer remembers.
Dates fill from about six weeks out. We tell you that because there are fifteen days and a finite number of pandits — arithmetic, not pressure. Reserve a tithi, or check the day’s panchang yourself first.

What is the difference between Basic, Standard and Premium?
Basic is the full Nivaran vidhi with Tarpan, performed by one pandit, with a WhatsApp video sent to you afterwards. Standard adds the live Zoom Sankalp — you join on camera and hear your name and gotra spoken aloud — plus a full HD recording, extended Tarpan for the maternal line, and premium samagri. Premium adds a senior Acharya, eleven brahmins, Pind Daan at Pushkar included, and a personalised kundli reading.
Do I need to travel, or be present?
No. The rite requires your Sankalp — your name, your father’s name and your gotra, spoken aloud by a qualified pandit at the correct muhurat. From the Standard tier you join by video call from wherever you are. See online puja for NRIs.
What details do you need from me?
Three: your name, your father’s name and your gotra. If you know the ancestor’s name and tithi, send those as well. If your family has lost the tithi — common after a generation abroad — say so, and we perform the rite on Sarva Pitru Amavasya, which exists precisely for that case.
When is Pitru Paksha 2026?
Pitru Paksha 2026 runs from 26 September to 10 October 2026, closing on Sarva Pitru Amavasya on 10 October. Shradh is traditionally performed on the tithi on which the ancestor passed away; if that tithi is unknown, the rite is done on Sarva Pitru Amavasya. Tithis are lunar, so confirm your specific date against a panchang — ours is on the Aaj Ka Panchang page.
Do I need Pind Daan as well, or is the puja enough?
For most families the Nivaran Puja with Tarpan is sufficient. Pind Daan at a tirth is the traditional addition during Pitru Paksha, and many families choose it for that reason rather than out of necessity. We will tell you honestly which one your situation calls for, and we will not upsell you into the other.
Is Narayan Nagbali necessary?
Only if an ancestor died an unnatural or untimely death and the last rites could not be completed. It is not a general-purpose remedy for Pitru Dosh, and anyone selling it to you as one is upselling. For most families, Tarpan, Shradh and Pind Daan are all that is required.
Can Pitru Dosh be the reason we cannot have a child?
Please see a doctor first. We mean that sincerely. Infertility is a medical condition with medical causes and, very often, medical solutions. If you have done that and still wish to perform the ancestral rites, we will help you gladly — but we will not offer a ritual as a substitute for a diagnosis.
What is the cheapest remedy for Pitru Dosh?
